Faculty Achievements

Dr. Anjali Arora, a faculty member, has co- authored a book on corporate laws for B.Com (Hons.) students of Utkal University, Odisha. Dr. Sapna Bansal has also authored 3 books in the year. Ms. Rishika Nayyar has presented a paper on “Outward FDI from India- A Case for Sub-National Level Analysis of Institutions " at the 5th Copenhagen Conference on Emerging Multinationals: Outward Investment from Emerging Economies held on October 27-28, 2016 at the Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen, Denmark. Another co-authored paper on "Drivers of Early Internationalisation - A Study of the Indian IT Industry" was accepted for presentation at the Academy of International Business Conference Annual Conference, June 2016, New Orleans, USA.Three Faculty members (Ms. Minny Narang, Ms. Priyanka Bedi and Ms.Vandana Munjal) of The Department of Commerce have completed their M.Phil from University of Delhi.

Dr. Aprajita Chauhan: Associate Professor, Chemistry
Published two books on Organic Chemistry for Degree Students B.Sc. Ist Year and two research papers – 'Tetra hydro furan-assisted transesterication Biodiesel from waste cooking oil' in J.Biofuels and 'Peroxidase isoenzyme proles as indicators of sensitivity in SO2- fumigated crop plants' in IJSRST. She successfully completed the Innovation Project entitled " “WASTE TO WEALTH - Water Hyacinth—A new green fuel source”, 2015-2016 awarded by the University of Delhi. She also presented the following posters: 'Waste to Wealth: Water Hyacinth – A New Green Fuel Source' at 94th Foundation Day, Viceregal Lodge, University of Delhi; 'Phytoremediation potential of water hyacinth along the Delhi stretch of Yamuna river---A preliminary study' at the National Conference on Combating Industrial Pollution for Sustainable Environment—A Fusion of Industrial and Scientic Efforts atGargi College; 'Biofuels – The Indian Scenario' and 'Water Hyacinth—Boon or Bane'at National Seminar on Emerging Issues of Climate Change: Sustainability and Economic Implications at Sri Aurobindo College; 'Optimization of sulfuric acid pretreatment for sachharication of water hyacinth biomass in bioethanol production at International Conference on Green Chemistry in Environmental Sustainability and Chemical Education, Daulat Ram College.

Dr. Pravita Kumar: Associate Professor, Chemistry
Delivered lectures on “Chemistry in everyday life” in the refresher course held from June 7- 27, 2016 at CPDHE, University of Delhi and on “Chemistry and human life” at the two day national Seminar organized by Zakir Husain Delhi College, which was supported by CSTT, MHRD. She has also published a research paper in a seminar proceeding with ISBN. A two day national seminar entitled “Recent Innovations in Chemical Sciences and Environment Technology” was organized by the department of chemistry under her convenorship.

Dr. Yogendra Kumar: Associate Professor, Chemistry
A refresher course on contemporary science was organized in June 2016 under his convenorship at CPDHE, University of Delhi.He was also an organizing secretary in the two- day national seminar entitled “Recent Innovations in Chemical Sciences and Environment Technology” organized by the Department of Chemistry.

Dr. Mukesh Kumar: Assistant Professor, Chemistry
Participated and Presented papers at National Seminar on 'Emerging Economics and Challenges to Sustainability towards Developing Nations' at Sri Aurobindo College; National Symposium on Nanobiotechnology, BIOTIKOS-2016, organized by TERI University, 2016; National Conferenceson Chemistry: Environment & Harmonious Development (NCC 2016) organized by the Department of Chemistry, ShyamLal College and "Clean & Green Energy: The Chemical & Environmental Aspects" held at Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences,

Published a chapter entitled "Removal of Heavy Metals Using Graphene Composites" for Organic and Inorganic Pollutants in Wastewater: Methods of Analysis, Removal and Treatment and Review Article- 'Removal of lead from wastewater using graphene based composites in Journal of Polymers and the Environment.

He also acted as Chemistry Practical external examiner at Department of Chemistry, Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi and Department of Chemistry, Amity University, UP.

Dr. Narpat Raj Nenival: Assistant Professor, Chemistry
Presented three research papers at National Seminars on “Emerging issue of Climate change: Sustainability and Economic Implications” (Oct 2016) and “Recent Innovation in Chemical Science and Environment Technology” (March 2017) at Sri Aurobindo college; “Clean and Green energy-The Chemical and Environmental Aspects” at BCS College, Feb. 2017.

Dr. Namita Rajput: Associate Professor, Commerce
Published a staggering total of 15 research papers, 1 case study, 3 books (Organisational Behaviour, Entrepreneurship and Small Business, and Customer Perception and Evaluation of Branded Apparel), 6 chapters, presented 20 papers at National and International conferences, won 5 best paper awards. Her papers have been published in several journals such as International Journal of Business and Research, Journal of Indian Management and Strategy, PARIPEX, Journal of Applied Research, Global Journal of Enterprise Information System and Asian Journal of Finance and Accounting. She was bestowed the Distinguished

Researcher Award by IARDO, 'Torchbearer of Indian Education' by India Diadactics Association and Women's Excellence Award in the eld of education. She also received award and recognition from the Healthy Universe Foundation and Commissioner of Police for services towards slum dwellers. She has conducted a two day FDPin ITS, Mohan Nagar.

Ms. Tarunika Jain Agrawal: Assistant Professor, Commerce
Successfully completed her Ph.D on “Interaction between Credit Risk and Market Risk in the Indian Banking Industry: An Empirical Study” from University of Delhi

Ms. Hema Nagpal: Assistant Professor, Economics
Presented a Poster on the Research paper "Capital Account Decit V/S Foreign Investment: Analysis on Directional Relationship" at the National Seminar on “Reforms for Transforming India : A Road Ahead” organized at Sri Aurobindo College in February 2017. Her research paper titled "The Impact of WTO Norms on Tourist Inow in India "was published in the March 2017 issue of Atlantic Publication, which was originally presented at the National Seminar on "Global Trade in Services: A WTO Perspective” organised by Department Of Commerce, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, University of Delhi, March 2016.

Ms. Parul Jain: Assistant Professor, Economics
Awarded M.Phil degree for her thesis titled “Economic Analysis of Fertiliser Application in India” from Centre for International Trade and Development Studies, School of International Studies, JNU. She presented a paper “Fertiliser Overuse in India: A Tragedy of Excess in Commons” at Graduate Research Meet-2016, organized at the IIT, Guwahati, October 20-22, 2016 and “Skill India: A Lost Opportunity” at the National Seminar on “Reforms for Transforming India: A Road Ahead” at Sri Aurobindo College, where she won the best paper award.

Dr. Ashwani Kumar: Assistant Professor, Electronics
Selected for UGC sponsored prestigious Raman Post-Doctoral fellowship. He has been doing his Post-Doctoral research at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida, USA since August 2016. He has successfully completed DU Innovation project on "Design and Development of Dual-Band, Triple-Band, Quad- Band, Penta-Band and Hexa-Band Bandstop lters for Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)".He published six papers in reputed International Journals, and four papers in International Conferences /National conference.

Dr. Tasneem Shahnaaz: Associate Professor, English
Presented a paper on Writing from the Margins: Re-visioning the (En)gendered Self in the intercultural context through the Poetry of Adrienne Rich and Kamala Das at the 21st World Congress of the International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA 2016) held at Vienna, Austria (July 2016). She contributed a chapter in the critical anthology Revisiting India's Partition: New Essays on Memory, Culture, and Politics, 2016; co-authored a book English and Communication Skills Part II, Cambridge University Press, 2016; and conducted a 3-week Refresher Course in English (March, 2016) on “Language, Literature and Culture” (on behalf of the Dept of English, DU) at CPDHE, University of Delhi.
Ms. Kalpita Sonowal: Assistant Professor, Environmental Studies
Published a proceeding “The Dying Wetlands of Delhi: An Overview on the Threats and Conservation Strategies of Wetlands”,  in  the  seminar  entitled  “Recent  Innovations  in C h e m i c a l S c i e n c e a n d E n v i r o n m e n t Te c h n o l o g y ” . S h e p r e s e n t e d t w o papers“Projectedemissions of HCFCs and HFCs from Indian residential air-conditioning sector” and “An assessment on India's national strategy, funds available for waste management and its contribution to the target under Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC)” in ICSSR Sponsored National Seminar on “Emerging Issues of Climate Change: Sustainability and Economic Implications” and “Emerging economics and challenges to sustainability towards developing Nation”, Sri Aurobindo College.

Dr. Neetu Dwivedi: Assistant Professor, Environmental Studies
Published a proceeding “The Dying Wetlands of Delhi: An Overview on the Threats and Conservation Strategies of Wetlands”, in the seminar entitled “Recent Innovations in Chemical Science and Environment Technology” and presented a paper titled “An assessment on India's national strategy, funds available for waste management and its contribution to the target under Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC)” in National seminar on “Emerging Economics and challenges to sustainability towards developing Nation” at Sri Aurobindo College.

Dr. Sudheer Pratap Singh: Associate Professor, Hindi
Attended meetings as an Expert for preparation of “Hindi Vyutpatti Kosha” and “Navlekhan Shivir” organized by Central Hindi Directorate, MHRD, Govt. of India; and upgrading “Glossary of Mathematics” organized by Commission for Scientic & Technical Terminology, MHRD, Govt. of India at Rajasthan. He supervised the Ph.D thesis of a student at Dr. Jain College (Chaudhary Charan Singh University Meerut), Uttar Pradesh.
He published a book-“Prasangavash”, edited 5 books-“Reetikaleen Kavya”, “Prachin Aur Purvamadhyakaleen Hindi Kavita”, (Revised and Modied), “Aadhunika Hindi Kavya-1”, (Revised and Modied), “Aadhunika Hindi Kavya-2 “Uttar Madhyakalina Kavita”, Sri Natraj Prakashan, Delhi and wrote 5 chapters in books- “Dekhi Tumari Kasi: Sandarbha- Premjogini'' and “Ha Ha! Bharat Durdasha Na DekhiJaai” in Naatakakar Bhartendu Naye Sandarbha Naye Vimarsha, 2016; “Media: Badhati Jimmedariya Aur Girate Mulya” in Media Atita Vartmaan Aur Bhavishya, 2016; “Pratirodhaka Swar-Sultana Daku” in Dalit Natakaki Saiddhantiki, 2015.
He also delivered talks on 'Domestic Violence: Issues and Challenges' in the International seminar, Centre for Social Defense and Gender Studies, Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, 2017; 'Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment: Dimensions, Directions and Challenges' at Department of Sociology, Jai NaraianVyas University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, 2016; 'Su Kavitaki Loka Samvedanaaur Lokapriyata' at Jamia Millia Islamia, 2016; 'Shri Ram Janm Bhoomi Temple: Emerging Scenario' at Arundhanti Vashishtha Anusandhan Peetha, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, 2016. He chaired the session and delivered a lecture in the International seminar on 'Social Concern of Tourism', LBS (P.G.) College, Jaipur, Rajasthan, September 2016.

Dr. Rajiv Aggarwal: Associate Professor, Mathematics
Supervised PhD of three students at University of Delhi and Shri Venkateshwara University,
U.P. He published 9 papers in several reputed journals- Astrophysics and Space Science, Springer, International Journal of Technology, Journal of Dynamical Systems and Geometric
Theories, International Journal of Astronomy and Astrophysics ,The Journal of the Astronautical Sciences, International Journal of Advanced Astronomy, Advanced Studies in Contemporary Mathematics and Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal.
He participated and chaired a session in the MHRD sponsored seminar on "Recent Trends in Technical Terminology in Science" held at Sri Aurobindo College. He attended several workshops on "Updation of Mathematics Glossary - Project of Commission for Scientic and Technical Terminology” between 2016 and 2017 in Kurukshetra, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand as an expert. He attended a ve days short-term course on "Dynamical Systems: Theory and Applications(DSTA 2016)" during June, 26-30, 2016 at Department of Applied Mathematics, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.

Dr. Manish Agrawal: Assistant Professor, Physics
Published a paper “Driving-induced multi stability in coupled chaotic oscillators: Symmetries and riddled basins,” in Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science. He participated and contributed an oral presentation to the “Conference on Nonlinear Systems and Dynamics, CNSD-2016” organized by Indian Institute of Science Education & Research Kolkata, December 16-18, 2016.

Dr. Vipin K. Malhotra: Associate Professor, Political Science
Received award for innovative teaching at National Achievers Conclave and Awards organised by the Indian Research Media and Awards on March 26, 2017.He organised an NHRC sponsored One-Day Human Rights Training Workshop on 'Challenges to Implementation of Human Rights Regime in India' on March 27, 2017.

Dr. Veena Malhotra: Associate Professor, Sanskrit
Two research scholars have completed their Ph.D under the able guidance of Dr. Veena Malhotra. The Sanskrit students of BA (Prog) have bagged scholarship from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan.

Ms. Parul Puri: Assistant Professor, Zoology
Presented two papers titled 'Plastic Waste Management: Is it a solution to environment build up problem?' and 'Anthropogenic factors and Climate change: Implications and road ahead' at National Seminar on “Emerging issues of Climate Change: Sustainability and Economic Implications”, Sri Aurobindo College (Also won the 'Best Paper Award'). Together with Dr. Kamaljeet Dabas, she presented a paper titled “Nanomaterials: Health hazards and Environmental Concerns” at National Seminar on “Recent Innovations in Chemical Science and Environment Technology”, March 2017, Sri Aurobindo College.

Ms. Priyanka Bedi , Assistant Professor, Commerce Department
Ms. Priyanka Bedi completed her M.Phil. in International Business on the topic "Revealed Comparative Advantage and Export Patterns: The Case of BRIC Economies" from Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.

Ms. Minny Narang , Assistant Professor, Commerce Department
Presented a paper on "Whistleblower Policy: A Corporate Governance Reform" at a National Seminar on "Reforms for Transforming India: A Road Ahead" held on Feb. 17-18, 2017

Completed her M.Phil. in Corporate Governance on the topic “Whistle Blower Policy: A Study of Select Listed Companies of India” from Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.

Mr. Bunny Singh, Assistant Professor, Commerce Department
Presented Paper entitled: Dividend decisions and payout policy: An empirical analysis of listed Asian Companies International Conference on Changing Dynamics in Global Markets, on 29-30 September 2016 organized by in Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies.
Won Best Paper Award at ICSSR sponsored National Seminar on “Emerging Issues of Climate Change” held in Sri Aurobindo College on 21st -22nd October, 2016 on “Green Development: A Competitive edge to a nation.

Presented a co-authored paper on “Should CTT be retained or removed in India? An empirical analysis based on economic consequences and market microstructure impacts” at the Conference ON “DEVELOPMENT OF COMMODITY DERIVATIVES MARKET” ON FEBRUARY 8, 2017, hosted by University of Delhi South Campus.
Presented a paper on “Commodity Transaction Tax and Government Tax Revenue Collection” at the ICSSR Sponsored Two-day National Seminar on Reforms for transforming India: A Road Ahead, held on 17-18 February, 2017.

Ms. Rishika Nayyar, Assistant Professor, Commerce Department
Presented a co-authored paper on "What drives precocity of firms from the Indian IT Industry? Examining entrepreneur, network and firm" at the Academy of International Business India Chapter Conference on South-to-South FDI, Indian Institute of Management, Indore, 21-23 April 2016 hosted by IIM Indore. The same paper got published in Journal of East-West Business, Taylor & Francis Ltd, Volume 22(3), September 2016.

Ms. Shasta Gupta , Assistant Professor, Commerce Department
Won best paper award for the paper on ‘People's Perceptions towards GST: Good or Bad’ at the National Seminar on ‘Reforms for transforming India: A Road ahead’ held by Sri Aurobindo College on 17-18 Feb, 2017.

Won best track paper for the paper on ‘Factors influencing the shareholders to use remote e-voting’ at the International Conference on ‘Corporate Governance: Retrospect ad Prospects’ held by IMS Ghaziabad on 12-13 Feb, 2017.
