Students Aid Fund & Fee Concession

Sri Aurobindo College strongly believes that financial limitations should never obstruct a student’s right to education. Upholding the principles of inclusivity and equal opportunity, the college has established the Students Aid Fund & Fee Concession Committee in the academic year 2025-26 to provide financial support to deserving students. The committee works with a clear vision of ensuring that every learner, irrespective of their economic background, has access to uninterrupted academic growth.

In line with the vision of Maharshi Aurobindo, our college is pleased to announce new scholarship schemes to make education more accessible and inclusive.

The Maharshi Aurobindo Inclusive Scholarship will support students from underprivileged communities (SC, ST, OBC and EWS) in pursuing higher education. The Maharshi Aurobindo Merit Support Scholarship will provide assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds, helping them achieve academic excellence.

These scholarships are designed not only to offer financial support but also to build confidence, self-reliance, and an inclusive learning environment. The college strongly believes that education is the foundation of equality and progress. Through these initiatives, students will be encouraged to realize their potential and contribute to nation-building.

PM-Vidyalaxmi Scheme

Financial Assistance for Higher Education

Sri Aurobindo College, University of Delhi, is pleased to facilitate the implementation of the PM-Vidyalaxmi Scheme, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, designed to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent deserving students from pursuing higher education.

The PM-Vidyalaxmi Scheme is a national initiative aimed at making education finance more accessible, transparent, and student-friendly. It has been introduced to support meritorious and deserving students who wish to pursue higher education in recognised institutions but may face difficulty arranging funds for tuition fees and other approved academic expenses. By bringing multiple banks and institutions onto a common digital platform, the Scheme simplifies the process of applying for education loans and reduces the need for repeated visits, paperwork, and manual follow-up.

The Scheme provides a simple, transparent, and fully digital mechanism for students admitted to Quality Higher Education Institutions (QHEIs), including Sri Aurobindo College, to apply for education loans through a single online portal. It is intended to reduce paperwork, speed up processing, and make access to education finance easier for students and their families.

Through the PM-Vidyalaxmi Portal, eligible students can apply to participating banks and financial institutions, track the progress of their application online, and receive support as per applicable Government norms. Depending on eligibility and the prevailing guidelines, students may also avail interest subvention, credit guarantee support, or other benefits under the Scheme.

The Scheme is especially helpful for students who require financial support for tuition fees and other approved education-related expenses, subject to the rules of the lending bank. It is not a scholarship, but a Government-supported education loan facilitation initiative that aims to make higher education more accessible and affordable. In addition to easing access to loans, the Scheme promotes greater inclusion by helping students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds continue their studies without interruption.

Key Features

  • Single-window digital platform for education loan applications.
  • Access to multiple participating banks through one common portal.
  • Simplified and paper-light application process.
  • Transparent, time-bound processing of loan applications.
  • Online tracking of application status for students.
  • Institutional verification support through the College.
  • Interest subvention and credit guarantee support, wherever applicable, as per Government guidelines.
  • Designed for students admitted to eligible Quality Higher Education Institutions.
  • Helps cover education-related expenses such as tuition fees and other approved academic costs, subject to bank norms.
  • Loan sanction, disbursement, repayment, and moratorium conditions are governed by the respective bank and applicable rules.
  • Supports students in planning their higher education with greater financial certainty.
  • Encourages wider participation in higher education by reducing financial barriers.
  • Provides a more streamlined and accountable process for both students and lending institutions.

For Students

Students seeking financial assistance for pursuing their studies at Sri Aurobindo College are encouraged to apply through the PM-Vidyalaxmi Portal soon after securing admission. The portal allows students to submit applications online, choose from participating banks, and monitor the status of their request.

Before applying, students should keep the following ready:

  • Admission Offer Letter / proof of admission
  • College AISHE Code (available in the admission documents/college portal)
  • Aadhaar and other identity documents
  • Academic records and mark sheets
  • Income certificate, if required for benefits under the Scheme
  • Bank account details and any other documents prescribed by the lending bank

Students are advised to carefully read the eligibility conditions, loan terms, repayment schedule, and document requirements of the selected bank before submitting the application. The amount sanctioned, interest rate, moratorium period, and repayment conditions will be decided by the bank in accordance with its rules and Government guidelines.

The College has designated Nodal Officers to facilitate institutional verification and timely processing of applications in coordination with participating banks. Students should ensure that all details entered in the portal are correct and match their admission records to avoid delays in processing.
