"PRITHVI-SOCIETY FOR ENVIRONMENT" organised its Annual Departmental Fest "PARIVARTAN 2019

PRITHVI-SOCIETY FOR ENVIRONMENT of Sri Aurobindo College organised its Annual Departmental Fest PARIVARTAN 2019 on 15th April, 2019. The event was commenced on an auspicious note by lighting the lamp to invoke blessings of goddess Saraswati.

Professor N.C. Gupta (Dean-IP University) and Ms. Jyoti Raghavan (Environmental Activist) were the chief guests and keynote speakers for the programme.

Dr. R.K. Verma started the programme by sharing his opinion and highlighting the theme of the fest- 'Environmental Degradation'. Prof. N.C. Gupta apprised the students on the topic- 'Energy security under climate change and related issues'.

Ms. Jyoti Raghavan shared her experiences and sensitized the students to be an active citizen and sensitive towards the environment.

The talk was followed by various Competitions- Poster Making competition, pot decoration competition and photography competition.

Students from various colleges across Delhi University participated and bagged attractive prizes.

The members of Prithvi society also performed a ramp- 'Walk for Environment' depicting the beauty of nature and how it is being exploited by the human greed.

Shreya Dubey and Moyek performed a song spreading the message of courtesy towards the environment. Rongali Bihu Dance- the folk dance of Asssam which is done to welcome spring was also performed by a student.

Results for the competitions were announced in the valedictory ceremony and winners were awarded by chief guests and faculty members. 

Parivartan 2019 was a very successful event and was concluded by vote of thanks by Teacher Coordinator.

Prithvi aims to organize more such events in future to accentuate the progressive existence of all the beings in this environment.
