Celebration of 73rd Independence Day and Foundation Day of College

Sri Aurobindo College celebrated Independence Day with all pomp and glory. Dr. Vipin Aggarwal, Principal of the college, unfolded National Flag in the presence of members of teaching and non-teaching community and students. NSS unit of the institution played and sang patriotic songs and NCC volunteers gave customary gun salute to mark the occasion.

On the same day, the college also celebrated 47th year of its Foundation. To commemorate its establishment year, a series of events were organized by Mimansa, society for moral education, under the guidance of Dr. Veena Rani Malhotra. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri. Sriniwasan, renowned social activist.

The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana. Subsequently, Dr. Vipin Aggarwal invited the Chief Guest to deliver a lecture on the life and contributions of Sri Aurobindo Ghose.

Shri. Sriniwasan familiarized the audience with the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo and his immense contribution in shaping Indian National consciousness during our country’s freedom struggle. Shri Sriniwasan stressed on the need for our young generation to follow in the footsteps of Sri Aurobindo, which can be done by doing our duties honestly and cherishing our cultural values.

Dr. Vipin Aggarwal exhosted the students to wean themselves off Mobile Mania and devote their lives in the cause of national building. Dr. Veena Rani Malhotra delivered the vote of thanks to cap the event.

As part of the occasion, Mimansa also held an essay writing competition on the topic Indian Village: After 73 years of Independence. Winners received attractive cash prizes.
