Department of Economics has been there since the inception of Sri Aurobindo College in 1972. Economics is an important and popular subject offered to the students of Commerce and Humanities, predominantly. However, under the aegis of the CBCS System, it is also now offered to the students from Science stream. Apart from the usual Discipline and Generic courses such as Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Indian Economics, it now offers different Skill Enhancement Papers, ranging from Union Budget Analysis to Research Methodology and Data Analysis. It has a team of dedicated teachers who besides teaching, actively participate in various activities of the college, for the best interest of both, the college and the students.
