Physics was introduced in Sri Aurobindo College in 1992 as part of BSc. Physical Sciences course. The department has produced a large number of eminent scientists, dedicated teachers and those who excelled in other areas.
The Department of Physics occupies the top floor of the old Block. It has spacious two teaching laboratories equipped with all necessary instruments and computers.
Department is presently running innovation project along with Chemistry department funded by Delhi University.
