Sri Aurobindo College Organized the Lecture On “Epigenetic: Science of Forecasting Human Diseases”.

In the continuation of lecture series Chemistry Department of Sri Aurobindo College (M) Malviya Nagar University of Delhi, organized a lecture on the introduction and role of epigenetics in human diseases delivered by Dr. Ashok Sharma, Assistant professor & DBT- Ramalingaswami Fellow in the Department of Biochemistry at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Dr. Sharma told that 60% cancer can also be prevented by adopting healthy lifestyle and personal hygiene. Environmental factors our food habits like Junk foods, smoking, chewing tobacco, alcohols, sleeping timing etc. playing very major role in  designing the epigenetic programming like DNA methylation, histone modification which influence the gene transcription and transmit transgenerational adult onset disease.
