A visit to National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC)

The Department of Commerce, Sri Aurobindo College organized an Industrial visit to National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), an ISO 9001-2015 certified Government of India Enterprise under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Okhla, New Delhi on 24/9/2019. 

The teacher Incharge of Commerce Department, Dr. Shubhanjali Chopra and program coordinator, Dr. Sapna Bansal accompanied them.

NSIC promotes and supports Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Sector by providing integrated support services encompassing Marketing, Technology, Finance and other services.

The students were given elaborate explanation about the Prime Minister's skill development programme and the importance of small scale industries. The emphasis was laid on the importance of technical knowledge. The kind staff at NSIC explained the manufacturing of several products. Paper napkin manufacturing, soy milk, tomato ketchup, computer embroidery project, detergent powder were some of them. The visit helped the students to learn about raw materials, processing time, packing, selling and distribution etc. in a detailed manner. They also organised a lecture on entrepreneurship. 

The students gave positive feedback after visiting Incubator Centre for practical Knowledge of Entrepreneurship Development where they were showcased various models of industrial tools and machines.

 

A training lecture was also given by faculty of NSIC in which the students were enlightened about Make in India, Start up India, Skill India, and digital India to the Students.
