Sri Aurobindo College celebrates North-East Festival - "Bringing People together"

In a brilliant initiative, the Aurobindo College North East Students Association celebrated the North East Festival on 10th November, 2017 showcasing the theme of “Bringing People Together”. Highlighting the cultural traditions of the North-East was a difficult task for the college students in this pollution-laden atmosphere of Delhi. The variegated and colourful nature of their culture was presented through a variety of performances like dances, songs, music etc. One could see the prowess and valour of the Nagas, the long fights that the Kukis waged against the British as well as the natural scenic beauty of those areas.

The simplicity and struggle of the people of Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Assam were demonstrated and displayed through the colourful cultural exhibitions and performances. During the function the Principal of the college Dr. Vipin Kumar Aggarwal, spoke extensively on the variety of food, dress, literature and language of the North-East in order to make the audience aware of the areas as an integral part of India and to recognize the diversity of our country. Only then can we walk together and move forward towards a better future.

This remarkable event took place under the able management of Dr. Kalpita and Dr. Diana. Dr. Kalpita also addressed the students and highlighted the cultural importance of North-East an intrinsic part of our country.
