Celebrating Gandhi Jayanti

To celebrate the 147th birth anniversary of the father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, SAGE, debating society of our college, under the guidance of Dr. Aprajita Chauhan and Dr. Raj Kumar Verma, organised a bilingual- English as well as Hindi – essay writing competitionentitled “ Relevance of Gandhism in Contemporary World”on 29th September.

On the next day, 30th September a debate Competition on “Importance of Non-violence in Contemporary World” was held. The contest saw vibrant participation from students cutting across all the academic streams. The best debater was given a prize of Rs. 750/- and the second best debater was given an award of Rs. 500/-.

In a display of their heartfelt understanding of the Gandhi and his ideals, students highlighted the importance of Gandhian teachings as they convincingly put forth their views that in times of wars and conflict, Indo-Pak hostilities, Gandhian Fundamentals of non-violence, tolerance appreciation of each other’s humanity offers a ray of hope to the world.

At the close of two-day event, Dr. Vipin Kumar Aggarwal, Principal also spoke on Gandhian philosophy and its pertinence to our world. He, along with Dr. Meeta Mathur exhorted the student community to derive inspiration from Gandhian Principles and taken his lineage forward. The event was successfully Co-ordinated by English , Hindi and Physics department along with members of SAGE society.
