PARIVARTAN-2K18

The NSS Unit and Prithivi- Society for Environment, of Sri Aurobindo College organised its annual fest "Parivartan 2K18" on 13th April, 2018 in the college campus. The main aim of the fest was to connect to the society with particular emphasis on promoting awareness amongst the students and interest in the environment, social responsibility and community services. The occasion was graced by one of the most prominent personalities of Jawaharlal Lal Nehru University, Professor K.G. Saxena as chief guest.


The event started by lighting up the lamp by Dr. Vipin Kumar Agarwal, Principal of Sri Aurobindo College, Prof. K.G. Saxena, the chief guest, Dr. Rajiv Aggarwal, the NSS officer and other faculty members. The Principal addressed the gathering & felicitated the esteemed chief guest by honouring him.


Prof. K.G. Saxena delivered a talk on ‘Environment and Sustainable Development’. Through his speech he delivered the message to the students and audience present as how to inculcate the environmental behaviours, while citing the environmental problems the world was facing at that moment.


The fests comprised of different competitions at inter college level like Poster Making (with the topics heal the earth, heal the future & Earth to fulfil need and greed), Short Movies, Zigyasa-The Quiz, Working Models and Ad-Mad. The programme got concluded with the Waste on Ramp show which was a step towards the creation of the best dresses and accessories out of waste and light up the ramp. It was an overall presentation by the students to showcase the environmental problems through fashion.


The event was a huge success as it saw the participation of students not only from the college but also from other institutes. It was made possible by the hard work of the students of both the societies under the guidance of the Dr. Rajiv Aggarwal (NSS-Officer), Dr. Neetu Dwivedi (Co-Convener, Prithvi) and Ms. Kalpita Sonowal (Co-Convener, Prithvi)
